Why can Gum Disease affect my General Health?Gum disease are bacterial infections that drag on for years. These bacteria and their products have the ability to enter the bloodstream and cause damage elsewhere. Recent studies have shown that chronic gum disease may increase the risk of having cardiovascular problems, lung infections, premature births, hypercholesterolemia and diabetes.
