Dr. Rawad Samarani, DDS, DES, MRes
Periodontology and Dental Implants
Dr. Rawad Samarani graduated as Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1998, and in 2002 he graduated in Periodontology (Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures) from the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut. In 2013, he obtained from the same university a Master of Research.
Since 2002, he is a member of the Periodontology Department of the Saint-Joseph University where he is currently a senior lecturer and a clinical instructor. In 2019, he was appointed director of the “Advanced Implant Surgery Diploma”.
He published and co-published 17 papers in international peer-reviewed journals including the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Journal of Oral Implantology, the European Journal of Oral Implantology, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2019, he authored a textbook chapter, titled “Revisiting Guided Bone Regeneration in the Esthetic Zone”, published by Wiley-Blackwell. Dr. Samarani is a member of the implant council of the British Academy of Restorative and Implant Dentistry.
He is lecturing and giving courses on the topics of guided bone regeneration, full-arch implant rehabilitation and immediate implantation in the esthetic zone. He has trained hundreds of dentists in different parts of the world.

Dr. Dany Noujeim graduated in 1995 as a Doctor in Dental Surgery. After experiencing general dentistry, he pursued a "Mastère" program in Prosthodontics at the Saint-Joseph University where he graduated with distinction in 2009. The subject of his thesis was on bonding of post and core restorations.

Dr. Joseph Ghauch earned his Doctor in Dental Surgery degree in 1998 from the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. In 2002, and from the same university, he earned his specialty degree in Endodontics.
Dr. Joseph Ghauch is always on the forefront of his specialty and is always updating himself on the latest innovations, techniques and protocols in root canal therapy by attending specialized training programs and international scientific conventions.

Dr. Joanne Khoury graduated in Dentistry in 2017 from the Lebanese University and in 2020 she had a specialty degree in Endodontics from the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut. She joined the Samarani Clinic Team in 2018.
Dr. Joanne Khoury is an expert CAD designer and is in charge of the digital dental processes in the clinic.

This immediate loading protocol was adopted since 2003 by Dr. Rawad Samarani. Now, and after many years of experience with this technique, several hundreds of treated cases and several publications on the subject, Dr. Rawad Samarani is being invited to share his experience at the international level about this technique. This revolutionary technique uses 4 to 6 implants per arch to offer immediate rehabilitation of a patients’ teeth. In a matter of hours, it turns a patient with no teeth to someone who can chew, speak and smile normally.
A major milestone in this approach is the possibility to deliver the treatment in jaws classically considered deficient in bone volume by making use of neighboring bone structures like the pterygoid bone, the nasal bone or the zygomatic bone.

In certain cases the jawbone or the gum are not sufficient in volume and quality to accommodate dental implants. A special grafting surgery will restore the lost part to its natural contour. GUM DISEASE TREATMENT
Periodontology, or the science of treating the gum around your natural teeth falls within the scope of our expertise. Taking care of your gums is essential for tooth longevity, and for your overall oral and general health. Recent studies have linked gum diseases to diabetes, heart diseases and pregnancy complications. Very often periodontal disease goes unnoticed by the patient. That's why we encourage our patients to comply to their maintenance visit (at least once per year) to avoid complications of the disease. The treatment can vary from simple cleaning to sophisticated gum and bone grafting procedures.
Receding gums is one particular aspect of gum problems. They may have receded for a variety of reasons, including aggressive tooth brushing or periodontal disease. A soft tissue graft procedure will repair the defect and help to prevent additional recession. During this procedure, we will take gum tissue from your palate or another donor source to cover the exposed root.

We offer on-site 2D panoramic imaging and advanced 3D CBCT low-dose imaging for high resolution view of your bone structures and jaws. It allows for a quick diagnosis, treatment planning and precise surgical execution. This advanced imaging technology allows us to apply a non-invasive surgical technique called the "guided implant surgery" where implant planning is executed on special softwares before the surgery and special 3D printed surgical guides are manufactured accordingly.

- Here are some examples:
- Implant placement usually requires 2 separate visits to Lebanon with a 2 to 6 months interval between the visits. Most of the time, a fixed temporary prosthesis is attached to the implants form the first day by applying the immediate loading protocol. Occasionally, all the implant work (including the final crown) can be finalized in only one visit.
- Crown & Bridge work usually requires 1-14 days.
- Veneer placement (Hollywood Smile) requires 1-14 days.

- We provide each patient with a complete digital record of his case: detailed report of the performed procedures, before and after digital x-rays, before and after photos. Such documents are necessary for follow-up and maintenance in your country of residence.
